I specialize in medical, social services, and out-of-court legal interpreting, and in Spanish->English written legal translation. In terms of qualifications, I hold medical interpreter certification from Washington State DSHS (certificate number MC8945). My legal expertise stems from a master's degree in International Human Rights Law from the University of Oxford and from my current studies as a J.D. candidate at Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. I have particular expertise in translation and interpretation for immigration and criminal matters.

In addition, I have over six years of experience as an interpreter trainer. I work primarily with community interpreters, particularly those who support non-profit social service providers and legal service providers. I am licensed by Cross Cultural Communications to deliver the 40 or 60-hour The Community Interpreter International training curriculum (medical or general format).

I have also designed and delivered custom interpreter and service provider training curriculums for the UNHCR, the International Rescue Committee, and for a judiciary capacity building project in Thailand funded by AUSAID, in cooperation with the Thai government.
