Our services range from technical transformation of content, editorial compliance (censorship or S&P), editing, QC to language services with delivery to the end platform.
Our language pool currently contains over 1200 translators globally, providing translation, localization and QC services in 57 languages in different directions and combinations. The pool is continuously growing with the addition of new languages in order to meet our clients’ ever-changing landscape. We also provide accessibility services in English, including closed captions and hard-of-hearing signing.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are currently looking for subtitlers with experience in translating from Korean into multiple languages (please see full list below) for an ongoing project with an industry-leading streaming provider. Please see requirements and full list of target languages below:

LANGUAGES:
Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Indonesian, Japanese, Malay, Thai, Vietnamese

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
1. Full understanding of the source language (Korean), including idioms and jargon.
2. Native speaker of target language - excellent knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation plus ongoing engagement with the living language. Cultural sensitivity and extensive understanding of terminological/cultural nuances.
3. Excellent stylistic/writing skills in the target language, especially in the field of dialogue writing.
4. The ideal candidate will have strong linguistic skills in both Korean and at least one of the target languages listed above, with at least 3 years’ experience in translation and/or subtitling experience.
5. Ability to self-review and edit.
6. Ability to adhere to instructions, guidelines, and best practices and meticulous attention to detail.
7. Proactive and self-sufficient. Actively research terms and content. Escalate questions and issues when necessary. Exercise good judgment in ambiguous situations.
8. Excellent time management to ensure all deadlines are met.
9. Knowledge of subtitling conventions and standard practices, e.g. condensing, rephrasing, reading speed, character limits, time codes, line and positioning compliance, safe areas and all restrictions (legal and otherwise), etc.
10. Tech-savvy, a logical thinker, quick at adopting new tools and technologies.
11. Ideally has experience working with at least one popular subtitling software, e.g. EZTitles, Spot, WinCaps, Netflix Originator but not mandatory.
12. Awareness about the impact of subtitles on the audience’s enjoyment of the content.
13. Creative abilities to uphold the artistic intent of the content.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
1. Have an internet speed of around 10Mb/s.
2. Can work on files in a private setting for confidential work.
