***The Fluid Power Controls Lab focuses on the dynamics and control of the most effective actuation in terms of power density;*** hydraulics. Hydraulics are able to concentrate and route power through a system at a much higher density than other actuation methods. The lab has several different types of actuators including cylinders and motors as well as a host of electronic interfacing equipment that is formally dedicated to lab experiments. Examples of lab experiments include the Off Highway Machinery Powertrain simulator and a large scale vibration control testbed.
