German term

Bündelfestigkeit

German to English Law/Patents Cosmetics, Beauty Hair treatments
Hello all,
If you are like me and decided to work right up to the holiday, you are probably very busy right now, but maybe some of you with more expertise will have a chance to answer this one.
This is patent involving silanes and their use in hair treatments especially with dyes/colors/tints and damaged hair thereby improving the hair condition.
Please see sentence below for context. Thanks in advance.

Surprisingly, we found that the use of certain silanes, described in the following, changed the overall hair structure, but particularly the hair surface, in such a way that provided protection, hardening, sealing and strengthening as well as an increase in breakage resistance, splitting resistance or Bündelfestigkeit, particularly with rough and damaged hair.

tensile strength...

I would presume it means that the tensile strength of hair sheaths is improved.
Peer comment(s):

agree Ken Cox : probably the tensile strength of the bundles of fibres inside the hair (see http://www.ectodermaldysplasia.org/arts7.htm)
