Russian to English Marketing Cosmetics, Beauty Product information
On the label of a skin care (beauty) product. I understand расслабленная to mean "weakened", or perhaps "relaxed" but this doesn't seem to fit in the context. Most people want to firm and tone their skin, not relax it! Does it mean "supple"?

Different countries have different hang ups - the French have a thing about "heavy legs" and "decongestion for the legs". My legs ain't thin, but I'd never noticed them needing decongestion treatment...Thank you for the advice!

The emphasis in English is often on "well-toned" skin (i.e. not flabby), while the Russian word seems to imply "not too tensed up". "supple and relaxed" is a good combination.

... I think I'm probably going to go for "supple and relaxed" - I understand perfectly what you mean, Alexander, but relaxed skin on its own sounds perilously close to sagging...

1) "обеспечивая приятное ощущение расслабления" ~ so that you have a pleasant fealing of RELAXATION 100 % => therefore it should be "relaxed skin"

Whole sentence This idea appears in two parts of the text. As a positive result, 89% of women testing the product reported "обогащенная кислородом и расслабленная кожа". Elsewhere, the phrase "обеспечивая приятное ощущение расслабления" appears. Maybe it's just soft skin?

Dictionaries haven't caught up with this word. It's used in the sense of "relaxed" (mood). I've looked for examples of the phrase расслабленная кожа - it's always in contexts where the associated adjectives mean "soft/tender" etc.

Supple

Sometimes you just gotta go with what's going to work in the TL...I think supple works fine with the context you've provided.

No, I don't think this is it. Elsewhere in the text it talks about обеспечивая приятное ощущение расслабления - I think расслабленная is seen as positive, not negative.

Agree with Alexander. Relaxed skin is without tension lines, wrinkles, etc., smooth as a baby's butt, not leathered like mine!
