Source text - English ‘I hope my dear Miss Dashwood will excuse the liberty I take of writing to her; but I know your friendship for me will make you pleased to hear such a good account of myself and my dear Edward, after all the troubles we have went through lately, therefore will make no apologies, but proceed to say that, thank God! Though we have suffered dreadfully, we are both quite well now, and as happy as we must be in one another’s love. We have had great trials and great persecutions, but, however, at the same time, gratefully acknowledge many friends, yourself not the least among them, whose great kindness I shall always thankfully remember, as will Edward too, who I have told of it, I am sure you will be glad to hear, as likewise dear Mrs. Jennings. I spent two happy hours with him yesterday afternoon; he would not hear of our parting, though earnestly did I, as I thought my duty required, urge him to it for prudence’ sake, and would have parted forever on the spot, would he consent to it; but he said it should never be, he did not regard his mother’s anger, while he could have my affections- our prospects are not very bright, to be sure, but we must wait, and hope for the best; he will be ordained shortly, and should it ever be in your power to recommend him to anybody that has a living to bestow, am very sure you will not forget us and dear Mrs. Jennings too, trust she will break a good word for us to Sir John, or Mr. Palmer, or any friend that may be able to assist us. Poor Anne was much to blame for what she did, but she did it for the best, so I say nothing; hope Mrs. Jennings won’t think it too much trouble to give us a call, should she come this way any morning, ‘twould be a great kindness, and my cousins would be proud to know her. My paper reminds me to conclude, and begging to be most gratefully and respectfully remembered to her, and to Sir John and Lady Middleton, and the dear children, when you chance to see them, and love to Miss Marianne.

Translation - Hindi मुझे आशा है की प्रिय सुश्री दाशवुद उन्हें पत्र लिखने की मेरी इस धृष्टता को क्षमा कर देंगी ; किन्तु मुझे पता है की हमारी मित्रता के कारण आपको मेरी व् मेरे प्रिय एडवर्ड की कुशलता जानकार प्रसन्नता होगी, विशेषतः हमारी हाल-फिलहाल की सभी बुरी परिस्थितियों के बाद, इसलिए अब मैं और क्षमा नहीं मांगूंगी , अपितु आगे यही कहूँगी की ईश्वर का धन्यवाद् है! यद्यपि हम अत्यंत कष्टदायक परिस्थितियों से गुजरे , लेकिन अब हम दोनों काफी ठीक हैं और उतने ही प्रसन्न हैं जितना की हमें एक दूसरे के प्रेम में होना चाहिए| हमें कठिन परीक्षाओं व् उत्पीड़नों से गुजरना पड़ा, किन्तु साथ ही साथ, मैं अपने उन सभी मित्रों के आभार को भी स्वीकार करती हूँ जिन्हें मैं सदैव कृतज्ञता पूर्वक याद करुँगी, और आपका स्थान उन मित्रों में श्रेष्ठ है, मैंने एडवर्ड को भी आपकी मित्रता के विषय में बताया है, वह भी सैदेव आपका आभारी रहेगा, मुझे विश्वास है की मैं जो बताने जा रही हूँ उसे सुनकर आपको और श्रीमती जेनिंग्स दोनों को ही अत्यंत प्रसन्नता होगी|मैंने और एडवर्ड ने कल दोपहर में दो सुखद घंटे साथ में व्यतीत किये; मैंने अपने कर्त्तव्य का अनुसरण करते हुए,विवेकशीलता की खातिर उससे गंभीरतापूर्वक इस सम्बन्ध को समाप्त करने की विनती की, और यदि वह हाँ में उत्तर देता तो शायद उसी समय मैं सदैव के लिए अपने इस सम्बन्ध का अंत भी कर देती, किन्तु वह हमारे विछोह या विच्छेद के सम्बन्ध में कुछ भी सुनना नहीं चाहता था और उसने कहा की ऐसा कभी नहीं होगा; यदि उसके पास मेरा प्रेम व् स्नेह होगा तो उसे अपनी माँ के क्रोध की भी कोई परवाह नहीं है- निश्चय ही हमारा भविष्य बहुत उज्जवल नहीं है; किन्तु हम प्रतीक्षा करेंगे और सर्वोत्तम की आशा करेंगे; शीघ्र ही एडवर्ड पादरी नियुक्त किये जाने के योग्य हो जायेगा;मुझेविश्वास है की यदि आपके पास कभी भी ऐसा अवसर होगा की आप उसका नाम किसी ऐसे व्यक्ति को प्रस्तावित कर सकें, जो की उसे पादरी का कार्यभार देने में सक्षम हो, तो आप अवश्य ही एडवर्ड का नाम नहीं भूलेंगी, और मुझे पता है की प्रिय श्रीमती जेनिंग्स भी श्रीमान जॉन, श्रीमान पामर यां कोई भी अन्य व्यक्ति जो की हमारी सहायता कर सके, उससे अवश्य ही हमारी प्रशंसा करेंगी और सिफारिश भी|जो भी हुआ उसमे बेचारी एने का ही दोष था, किन्तु उसने एक अच्छे उद्देश्य के साथ ऐसा किया था , इसलिए मैंने कुछ नहीं कहा; आशा है की किसी सुबह इधरसे गुजरते समय हमसे मिलने आने में श्रीमती जेनिंग्स को कोई विशेष असुविधा नहीं होगी, उनका यहाँ आना अत्यंत स्नेह का परिचायक होगा और मरे सम्बन्धियों को भी उनसे परिचय करने में गर्व होगा|समाप्त होते हुए कागज़ को देखकर मुझे इस पत्र को समाप्त करना पड़ रहा है, आपसे आभारपूर्वक अनुरोध करती हूँ कि आप अवश्य ही श्रीमती जेनिंग्स, श्रीमती मिडल्टन , श्रीमान जॉन व् बच्चों को यह बतायेंगी की मैं उन्हें याद करती हूँ, जब भी आपके लिए उनसे मिलना संभव हो सके, सुश्री मेरियन को मेरा स्नेह|
