Italian term

titolare

Italian to English Law/Patents Medical (general) freelance contract, declaration
My problem with titolare is that it occurs as part of a list that also includes proprietario.

If proprietario is owner/proprietor, what is "titolare"?

jaime losantos Oct 30, 2009:
position seems to fit the overall context to hold a position / job- possibly a doctor or specialist in the context you're providing.
carly kelly (asker) Oct 30, 2009:
holder it did cross my mind, but begs the question, of what?

. . Encarta Concise English Dictionary: *holder*= 1. [...] 2. owner - an owner or occupier of something, e.g. property or a title. 3. [...]

I'm afraid I'm still unsure of what exactly "titolare" means in the given context, especially since most of the possibilities are already on the list (proprietario, gestore etc.). I went with "holder" in the end, with an NdT explaining my doubts on the subject. No feedback as yet, but will keep you posted. Thanks!"

titular

head/person in charge

I believe that "titular" is used primarily in an ecclesiastical context.

"Contractor": a person working for the owner under contract, responsible for the end results, but not an employee of the owner.
Just another possibility...
