Контекст: This number should be placed at the ‘lip mark’, in the case of whole tusks, and highlighted with a flash of colour (выдержка из соответствующей резолюции СИТЕС, которая не переведена на рус. яз. на данный момент; проверено).

Речь идет о месте нанесения уникального номера на бивнях слонов. Есть ли устоявшийся научный термин на рус. языке для этого места? Если нет, корректно ли будет назвать его "губная метка"? Другие варианты?
