I am a Japanese national born in Taiwan. I went to school in both Japanese and Chinese (junior and senior high school in Japan but graduated from National Taiwan University). I was an English literature major. I have tested at the highest, Grade One level, for the Japanese Society for Testing English Proficiency (STEP) as well as for Chinese (Japan's Chinese Language Society). In Taiwan, I translated English and Japanese films into Chinese (subtitles). Married to an American diplomat, I have worked at the US Embassies/Consulates in Guangzhou China, Osaka Japan, Frankfurt Germany and Beijing China. Translation and interpreting has often been a part of that work.

In addition to English into Chinese and Japanese, I also translate between Chinese and Japanese.
