Bio

Professional translator with more than 6 years of experience in translating to and from English and Bulgarian. Strong background in subtitling, including for award-winning feature films and documentaries, as well as TV. I have translated all kind of genres for TV and the silver screen. Rich experience in literary translation. Translated feature-film scripts from Bulgarian into English won awards in Cannes and LA.

Graduated from BA in British and American Studies in Sofia University.

Defended an MA Thesis in Master's program Translation in Sofia University, titled 'Strategies and Techniques in Television Subtitling' with an excellent degree.

Experienced in captioning and translation software, incl. SDL Trados.

Rich experience in screenwriting and editing. Strong background in Journalism, gained from my working experience for the News Department in the Bulgarian National Television (the Bulgarian public broadcaster). Experienced in TV production.

Passed the required tests for Netflix Hermes programme and ZooSubs.
