Source text - German Dazu gehören wohl Charakter und Beharrlichkeit, um allen Schwierigkeiten zum Trotz eine Situation zu verbessern. Eugen kam mit 19 Jahren als Prinz ohne Geld aus Paris nach Wien, wo er sich als Feldherr empor arbeitete. Er sollte zum berühmtesten Strategen Europas werden. Hierfür bedarf des Genies aber auch der Disziplin. Beides hatte Eugen, der zudem wie kaum ein anderer Kommandant vor oder nach ihm sich um seine Soldaten kümmerte. Zugleich war er ein Freund der Künste, sammelte viele Werke, die heute die Museen in Wien füllen. Er liebte seine Tiere, die ihm treue Freunde wurden, wie sein Löwe, der in jener Nacht starb, als auch Eugen sein Leben aushauchte. Eben diesen zahmen Löwen nahm er zu Terminen mit, um sicher zu stellen, dass bestimmte Leute gar nicht erst kamen. Seine Hühner ließ er von berühmten Künstlern malen und um seine Geier kümmerte er sich gerne selbst.

Ему суждено было стать самым известным стратегом Европы. Чтобы достичь таких высот, необходима гениальность и дисциплина. Евгений обладал и тем, и другим. Помимо этого, он, в отличие от большинства командиров, действительно заботился о своих солдатах. В то же время, он любил искусство, собирал различные работы, представленные сегодня в музеях Вены. Он любил своих животных, которые были для него верными друзьями. Среди них был и лев, который умер в ту же ночь, когда умер Евгений. Евгений брал этого льва с собой на встречи, чтобы убедиться в том, что на них не будет определенных нежеланных гостей. Он договорился с известными художниками, чтобы те изобразили на холсте его кур, а еще он самостоятельно ухаживал за своими грифами.

Source text - English It's been a real privilege, travelling over the years meeting people who’ve suffered for their faith, meeting who’ve been imprisoned for their faith, to see the shining joy of the gospel, and also see how it pulls East and West together. I remember being in Rome, the great Jubelee, celebrations, the Pope John Paul II in the Coliseum, and those fires burning around the Coliseum, the fires of faith, and the Orthodox and Catholics, Greek Catholics are sitting together. We had stories from Protestant, Orthodox and Catholics about the suffering church, and I met some of those people who were spoken about there, about their witness of faith during the XX century. And for me, coming to Russia, for me going to visit the Middle East, meeting people who’ve been driven out of their homes with their faith: Orthodox, Catholics and others alike. It is really united, me and united “Help of the church in need”, and wanting to help suffering Christians, it is the old thing – the cross. It’s a sign post , the cross that points the way to resurrection
Translation - German Es war ein echtes Privileg für so viele Jahre zu reisen und Menschen treffen, die haben für ihren Glauben gelitten, für ihren Glauben inhaftiert worden waren, um die leuchten des Gospels zu sehen, und auch zu sehen, wie es Ost und West zusammenbringt. Ich erinnere mich an meine Reise nach Rom, wo die große Feier mit Johannes Paul II in Colosseum stattfand, ich erinnere mich an die Leuchten um Colloseum herum, die Leuchten des Glaubens, ich erinnere mich an Orthodoxen und Katholiken, Griechischen Katholiken, die zusammensaßen. Wir hatten Geschichten über Kirchenleiden, die waren von Protestanten, Katholiken und Orthodoxen erzählt, und ich habe einige von diesen Menschen, über die es gesprochen war, getroffen, und diese Menschen haben das Glauben im XX Jahrhundert gesehen.
