I worked in gold-mining companies for all 8 years of my full-time job experience.
My first position was an Interpreter in the Foreign Affairs Department of Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine (in Uzbekistan), where I gained great knowledge and experience in translation of various aspects of mining business.
After 4 years with the company I was hired as a Senior Interpreter/General Manager's Interpreter by "Zarafshan-Newmont" JV, which was a project of Newmont Mining Corporation, one of the biggest gold mining companies in the world. This experience has made my area of specialization very broad, covering anything from official letters and negotiations on any subject to technical manuals and training programs. A special word on the latter: being a leader in the industry, Newmont Mining Corporation pays great attention to training of its employees and improvement of company's performance, therefore it produces a great variety of training programs. I have become an expert in translating such programs, both in writing and in front of the audience.
During my employment with "Zarafshan-Newmont" JV of Newmont Mining Corporation I was awarded with a gold medal and a Certificate of Gratitude for Exceptional Performance.
After 4 great years with the company I relocated to Peru, where I continued working for NMC as a contractor, translating via Internet and participating in some of the business meetings. In my three years in Peru I became fluent in Spanish language.
For the last ten years I have been working as a freelance interpreter/translator and a tutor of English as a second language.
