hello Sep 26, 2002

Deborah
The only options being considered are Friday lunch or Friday evening. Evening has it so far - can you make it then?

How about saturday?? Oct 15, 2002

As a lot of us will be working on friday and travelling home friday night, wouldn't saturday be a good option?
Maybe even somewhere like the Festival Hall on the South bank, for those who are not too keen on Pizza or would just want a cafe type of meal...
(nice views too! lol)

two becomes one? Oct 16, 2002

I don't think I can make the 1st now - I know I started the whole thing off, so am a bit shamefaced, but can do nothing about it as will be out of the country... But I see there is now another event in London scheduled on 24th Nov. I'll definitely make that one... but would it generally make sense to try to bring the two camps together and merge the events?

How about Saturday? - fine by me! Oct 16, 2002

Saturday lunchtime or early afternoon would suit me better. So would the venue, as I would be coming from Woking (south of London). The added attraction of the venue is that it is (presumably) self-service, so those of us who just want a drink wouldn't be obliged to have a meal. But would it be quiet at that time? What about Sat. 26 Oct. then, Tautologist? Don't worry about it though, if it doesn't suit the majority.

Date changes will not work for me... Oct 17, 2002

Hola,

I will not be able to make it if you change the dates.

However, I am sure I will see you many of you on the other Powwow at the end of November.

Cheers,

JL

Time to decide on Powwow 332!

I’m happy to book a table at ASK pizza for Friday 1 November in the evening (say 7 p.m.), but I’d rather not eat alone! The six who have said they are coming are:

David Knowles
Samantha Tasker
Gillian Noameshie
Sophie Vaudolon
José Villanueva Senchuk
Deborah James (maybe late)

Please will you confirm to me (preferably by direct email to [email protected]) if you are coming, and I’ll book it next week. If there are less than four definites, I’ll call it off.

Here’s the detailed state of play.

There are two proposed dates for London Powwows: Friday 1 November (Powwow 332) and Sunday 24 November (Powwow 353). The second one would coincide with a Proz moderators’ meeting.

19 have expressed an interest in 1 November and 14 in 24 November. 9 are interested in both, so we have a total of 24 interested people.

Now that Dan Brennan (AKA The Tautologist) has dropped out, we have six people for Friday 1 November in the evening (see above).

A couple of people would like Saturday 2 November, and have suggested the South Bank:

Ira Kulishova
Halina Arendt

Deborah James would also like this Saturday date.

I can’t do 2 November or 24 November!

Friday eve on the 1st? or Lunch 24th. Oct 19, 2002

So what do we do ?
Lunch on the 24th Nov or
is Friday Ist EVE still on ?
Maybe ask who is up for both and who would only prefere the 24th or the time /date to be proposed by the mods.

So here goes/ who is still on for Friday the first evening, for the pizzaria as proposed by David who is kindly arranging this.

Who is up for both ?

Who would prefer only the 24th/or whatever.

I sign up for both, but will most certainly be late o

Both... Oct 20, 2002

I'm not sure about the 24th yet so I'm still definitely up for the evening on the 1st. See you all there, maybe!

The list so far is

David Knowles
Samantha Tasker
Sophie Vaudalon

re: Decision Time! Oct 21, 2002

I shan't be able to make the 1st Nov. I may be able to make Sun. 24/11 in the early afternoon depending on the venue.
P.S. Incidentally David, the suggestion was Sat. 26/10, but nevertheless there was no wider take up.

Halina
