I was surprised to see that 100% of proZ profiles are customised for non-English languages, until I realised that I was the first person to vote on this one!
Yes, I have my profile customised in Spanish. It's a good idea to provide for people who don't speak English, since they account for a fair proportion of my work.

Yes! I have found that it makes business sense to do so, since the majority of my work currently comes from overseas sources. So far, I have customized my profile for each of my source languages (French and Italian). I also intend to customize it for Spanish at some point over the coming months, since I have been receiving a number of enquiries from Spanish agencies.

Is this what is meant? In this case then no, currently I don't (although I will in the future just haven't got round to it).
I took the question to mean virtually everything on your profile (or at least the main bits) not being English/being setup for a different language (About me, CV, Tagline, etc etc).
I guess there are varying degrees of "customization". Currently I'm at 0%....or 100% English, depending on how you look at it.

I looked too and couldn't see how other languages were available. Could you explain how this works?
I'm just getting my main text translated into Portuguese, to put on above the same text in English, but that's it. But if there were a better way I'd do it!

Er... I answered no, but a truer response would have been "I don't really know", because I just looked and it turns out my CV is only available in Spanish.
My CV and terms and conditions are usually just in Spanish, since most of my clients are native Spanish speakers. I've been meaning to do an English version but haven't quite finished yet. I also just had a look and I can't actually find a CV in English on my PC, but I suppose I must have an old one somewhere.

I can find the "Localize your content" button, is that it? (On settings).
...AND....can it only be viewed in the other language by people arriving from the relevant country domain? Say, for example, an Israeli located in Poland would still only get my profile in English? (Even if I had set it up for Hebrew too - would that only work from .il addresses?).

Stating the obvious, it looks like this could be a handy marketing tool -- localization of your profile for potential customers in both languages of your language pair.
I would like the option of viewers of my profile both Japanese language speakers and non-speakers alike in Japan - where I am located - to be able to choose the display language.
And, I do know from experience that Japanese language speakers are visiting and viewing my profle.
Is there anyone familiar with "profile customization" out there who can offer some pointers and advice not just for me but also other pollsters, too?

My customized version for Romanian is almost ready The problem is that even though my target language is Romanian, I and most of my peers have their profiles in English. I don't have that much clientele in Romania (low rates usually), but it would be a good marketing tool, indeed.

As far as I observed, if I search from google.ro for 'veronica lupascu proz' or 'greek romanian translator' with Romanian keywords, my proz.com profile comes first in the results and the url is something like: ron.proz.com/translator.... then my customized profile is displayed and also the Romanian version of proZ in general. Therefore visitors can browse proz in their language. This works for other languages too, even if your profile is not customized, i.e. visitors open the localized version of proz.
Now I plan to customize my profile for Greek too, to see what it brings I have an older version, but it has to be updated. Just was wondering if other prozians use this tool.

Others may disagree with me, but the ProZ interface for me isn't the most user-friendly I have encountered.
Ok, I can see how it works now (coming from Google as you suggested). But how do I go about doing it for myself? Was I on the right track with "Localize your content" as I cannot find the route Oliver suggested......

And then it is fairly simple. I would only suggest to write your content in notepad or word, because it is not saved automatically online, so you can lose it easily.
But I agree proZ hasn't the best user interface and also as a visitor, if you log out, it is not that easy to find what you need, especially if you don't know proz.
Also here in forums... all free forums online have such simple writing tools (changing fonts, inserting smileys, images, etc. with one click), here you have to play all the time with html codes.

Yes, if you click "Localize your content" you see a number of sections that can be localised (keywords, tagline, about me, etc.) Click any of them an select a language.
After saving it, it will become available to anyone who is browsing ProZ in that language (which in turn can be set on the home page, bottom right corner).
Oliver is quite right that you can also access this page from your profile>about me> Customize for non-English languages (beside "edit").
