Possible scam
I received the following mail today and cannot find any details about the company at all. Also the English is not up to normal company standards, and the email doesn't match the URL: [email protected].

The website is quite impressive though - plausbile addresses in many cities across the world etc. but absolutely no references to actual clients. I've also never been asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement before receiving any work - rather fishy.!

It's enough to look at the email address to know it's a scam.
The website is anything but impressive, unless you're a 5-year old who just stares at pictures. For this reason, I also don't think it belongs to a legitimate translation company that the scammer is trying to impersonate, the English is too rubbish.
Signing NDA before starting any work is quite common these days and is in no way a sign of scam.

It doesn't look like a scam to me. The agency looks legit. The data required is to be provided via their own webpage, not to any gmail address as it is suggested in your post.
The process of registration is very standard these days.
I don't see any red light.
Anyway, it is up to you. Do what your guts tell you.

The agency has several email addresses on their website. Even if the person who contacted you is in one of their other offices, it strikes me as odd that he didn't use the agency's email address but a gmail address, especially with the "7" added to it. Depending on the location of that person/office, the English might not be flawless.

If you want to make sure that you have indeed been contacted by an official agency representative, then just send them an inquiry using one of their official email addresses and ask them if that person is really working with them. They will appreciate your initiative, especially when someone might be abusing the agency's name.

Even if they are a legitimately established company (which I find doubtful), any agency that doesn't even use capital letters after a full stop/period can't really be taken seriously.

Many thanks for your comments. folks. I smelt a scam immediately (and I have had several attempts made, I can tell you. I'm the sort of guy (or I have the sort of address) that makes me a 4 times-a-week target for "James calling from Microsoft about an urgent problem with your computer" all the way from a car in Asia somewhere ............ )
