The large majority of my regular customers are based abroad, mostly in Europe. I only have two Portuguese clients: a lawyer with whom I work once in a while and a colleague with whom I work more often (split projects).

But my main client has branch offices in other countries and sometimes I work directly with them.

98%% of my clients are international agencies.
Partly because of my membership with ProZ.com, partly my own choice.
I like it this way, and my regular clients have professional and pleasant PMs.

It happens that most of the international organizations I work with have headquarters in the United States, where I happen to live, but I am at the diametric opposite corner of the country in Sunny San Diego, 20 minutes from the Mexico border, and life is so different in California that there is even a movement to secede. Furthermore, most of the authors I translate are working in the field, not in the U.S.
