And I'm sure there are other places along the way where I didn't agree with your translations or your critiques.
Steve,
I have been always open to other people's opinions. Yours have been no exception. You may and can have different opinions about my translations or my critiques on the practices of some veteran translators. But please no name-calling, no personal attacks. I was astonished that you did it this time.
You and I are not the only ones who happen to know languages and cultures. All of us are translators and we got to know several languages and have at least some understanding for other cultures. It may happen that we don't agree with others or just differ from others. However, it is no ground to launch an attack, even when you are defending some fellows.
Back to my posting quoted by you, the main point I was saying was "A master doesn't have a value, if he just assumes the position of a master and don't do anything good to you or, instead, even do something to harm you." What was wrong with my posting? Just because of the mentioning of patent translation and Alzheimer's? Well, you overreacted! I translate patent applications, too. I could end up with Alzheimer's, too. Why this personal attack on me?
Think it over.
