Where have Cypresoft and Trans Suite 2000 gone to? Thread poster: TTilch

Hi, I just tried to visit http://www.cypresoft.com/ and noticed that they seem to have disappeared. Did the website move? Do company and product (Trans Suite 2000) still exist? What happened to them? Any information appreciated. Best regards, Tanja

Unfortunately, this is not the news you wanted to hear, but Alain and I had to close the company. Since 31 December, the company has been officially closed. Already a while before that, we had to disconnect all phones and internet connections, which is the reason you did not hear from us until now. The major reason that we had to close the company is because we lost a very big client. We have tried to find investors, and even searched for companies that were willing to buy the company, but without success. Since Cypresoft started the company in 1999 (almost 5 years ago), Alain and I have only paid ourselves one year of salaries, and even then it was a minimum salary. To continue the calculation, this means that Alain and I have worked almost 4 years for free. But since we believed we could make a true difference in this commercial world of translation software, we had invested all the profits of the sales back into the company to make sure we could keep the company running. Now, we had reached a financial state where we had no choice but to close the company, and believe me, it was with pain in my heart that we had to do so. As a lot of you know, Alain and I worked long hours, 7 days a week, but it seems that was not enough. Since a couple of years, the translation market has gone into a deep fall, and it does recover a bit now, but not enough to help us stay alive. Since yesterday, we finally have a personal internet connection, which makes it possible to finally make these comments. To be honest, it does break my heart to hear some say what you have written in the previous mails on the egroup. We have supported you day and night, during the week and weekends, beyond any state another company would have done. The support has always been free for everyone, since we thought this was the best way of doing business. Although I now doubt we get the appreciation that we deserve for that. Anyway, to come to an end, I have uploaded a file to the egroup which will enable all of you to create PIN codes on the fly. Knowing that almost 70% of our TRANS Suites that are currently running around the globe are illegal, I can say that a lot of you helped us to reach the point where we had to close the company because we had lack of fundings. For some clients we had to give up to 15 PIN codes for ONE license in a year, which does say enough about the number of illegal licenses they were running. Other clients, even the ones that we once considered as our best clients, and which almost became personal friends of mine, where running such illegal versions. And to quote Eva: > seems to be a hobby for the users of software nowadays. For those who intend to move to a competitive tool, which I suppose you will all do somewhere in the future, buy the tools instead of doing it in an illegal way. Otherwise, you might face the same scenario again. Last but not least, to the people who stayed honest, I can't express my thanks enough!!! Hi, I for one had a PC crash and a physically broken HDD last year. This means that I have paid very good money for a CAT I can't use. I'd be happy to pay for a security key, but be sure the money I have spent for TransSuite 2000 was an investment and not a loss. And I always buy licences for the CAT tools I use, so please Jos, if you read this thread, do not consider all people as out for a free ride.
