I'm a relative novice at working with a large quantity of texts and professional translator tools and I'm wondering if there is a tool (it seems I saw one somewhere) that can count characters in a large number of documents (in a single folder) without having to open each one individually to identify and tally the count.
I have Trados but don't really know how to use it yet.
Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

open Trados workbench analysis (Tools->Analysis), then switch to Windows explorer to select all the files you need to count, and then drag and drop them into the box "Files to analysis" in the Analysis files window.
Press the "Analysis" button to start counting
