In an effort to give subtitlers and other AVT professionals the necessary tools to stand out and be found in an easier and more effective way by potential clients, we are implementing some changes to the language section of the profile updater.

I hope you are doing well and staying safe.

In an effort to give subtitlers and other AVT professionals the necessary tools to stand out and be found in an easier and more effective way by potential clients, we are implementing some changes to the language section of the profile updater.

Subtitlers can now add subtitling specific services to their profile to be filtered when potential clients look for them.

If you are an AVT professional, the only thing you should do is edit your language pair specific services, click on edit for the language pair you would like to add the service in, add the subtitling specific service(s) you would like to offer, and click on save language pair.





This change will give AVT professionals the opportunity to be found in an easier way, and on the other hand it will improve the efficiency of the searches performed by potential clients at ProZ.com.

A little advice: It might help to point to the fact that many agencies are not only looking for these subtitling professionals, but for a rate of 2-4 cents per video minute, a completely unprofessional rate. So before you embrace subtitling, better find out what it is you're going to get into. If you have 200 words per minute to translate and fit right, you can figure out what you get paid per word. If you are a real professional, I hope you know what to do with such "offers". Some videos can easily have 300 - 400 words. Just keep that in mind.
