How to merge segments in SDL Trados Studio

I have tried shift and right click. But in the small window opening after the right click, the merge segments option is not selectable.

Dear Ahsen,
That means that the 2 segments you are trying to merge belong to two different paragraphs.
Merging 2 segments which belong to the same paragraph is always possible, but if they don't belong to the same paragraph you have to allow this functions yourself.
You can only do this if you have created the project yourself. In this case click Open Project Settings, click the first item Project and on the right panel check the box related to Enable Merging Segments Across Pa... See more

In case you haven't created the project yourself because it is either a Package or a GroupShare Project. unfortunately you cannot change this parameter. If you like you need to ask your PM to do so.
