1. Canoe the Susquehanna River water trail in Pennsylvania

This relatively undiscovered network of three trails is one of the newest additions to a network of water trails in the state of Pennsylvania. The West Branch trail runs for 240 miles from Cherry Tree to Sunbury; the Middle Trail runs 51 miles from Sunbury to Harrisburg, and the Lower Trail runs 53 miles from Harrisburg to the Mason-Dixon Line. All along the trails you’ll enjoy watching the migratory waterfowl, shooting the whitewater rapids, and seeing the Native American petroglyphs (rock engravings). Guided tours are available, or self-paced tours can be arranged, especially if you have your own equipment.
