If neither firing control circuit can ire the SCR, it is fired on overvoltage when the anode-to-gate voltage on the SCR exceeds the breakover voltage of the breakover diode string connected between the anode and gate.De-excitation modules can be paralleled for larger excitation systems. Some applications may require a crowbar module to limit poleslip voltages.

Rotor and stator field of a synchronous generator run at same speed, if due to any disturbance , mismatch in the speed of rotor and stator occurs then pole slipping is initiated.

IN SYNCHRONOUS MACHINE THERE R INTER LOCK B/W ROTOR AND
STATOR POLES.
IF SUDDEN LOAD CHANGE THEN THIS LOCKING MISMACH.
THIS IS POLE SLIP
