English to Spanish: Excerpt from a paper on the principles of modern architecture
Source text - English In regard to the elements through which the ''built form'' can be understood, one must begin by examining the structure and the space-defining elements. The first is made up of columns arranged in a regular grid, with equivalent spacing and a formation that only varies in the areas around the elevators. The columns decrease or vary their cross-section, and sometimes even disappear as the need for them changes in the upper floors. In such a manner, one of the fundamental principles that Norberg-Schulz points out as a constituent of the ''free plan'' is present in the building.
The space-defining elements, although they could be placed anywhere since the columns carry the load, are generally associated with the grid and only vary in particular situations. At the entrance of the health services' waiting room, a diagonal wall favors the spatial continuity between the first staircase and the room. In between the first and second levels, the wall associated with the second staircase that connects to the auditorium is also diagonal and favors a similar situation. The rest of the walls, although associated with the grid, are placed thoughtfully in order to meet spatial needs. Thus, both the structure and the space-defining elements used were fundamental to achieve the spatial characteristics - marked by a desire to achieve continuity and interaction - that the architect wanted for the building.

La primera se compone de columnas ordenadas en una retícula regular, con separaciones equivalentes y una formación que solo varía en las áreas alrededor de los ascensores. Las mismas disminuyen o varian su sección, e incluso a veces desaparecen conforme la necesidad por las mismas cambia en los pisos superiores. De tal modo, uno de los principios fundamentales que Norberg-Schulz señala como constituyente de la ''planta libre'' se encuentra presente en el edificio.
Los elementos definidores del espacio, aunque podrían colocarse en cualquier lugar dado que las columnas llevan la carga, están por lo general asociados a la retícula y solo varían en situaciones particulares. En el ingreso hacia la sala de espera de los servicios de salud, un muro en diagonal favorece la continuidad espacial entre la primera escalera y la sala. Entre el primer y segundo nivel, el muro asociado a la segunda escalera que conecta con el auditorio también está en diagonal y favorece una situación similar.
