Mit der B. wird allgemein eine negativ belastete Neigung bezeichnet, die jemanden veranlasst, in eine Arbeit, oder einen Kommunikationsvorgang, Themen einfließen zu lassen, die willkürlich (oder besser: spontan- assoziativ) gewählt erscheinen. B. wird dann auch besonders gerne unter „beliebig austauschbar“ benutzt. Hierbei bezieht sie sich auf genregebundene Schemata, sowie auf Austauschbarkeit innerhalb eines anders definierten Systems. Beispiele dafür sind: Beliebig austauschbare Rollen eines Darstellers in einem Film, oder versetzbare Worte eines Textes sowie scheinbar würfelbare Strophen eines Liedes.
