Oui bien joué Alison

Well found, Alison! I feel sure that is the answer to this mystery, and morevoer, a 'champagne glass' of that type would be a likely alternative for a Martini glass for many kinds of cocktail.
Alison MacG May 5, 2018:
Typo for coupette? Try googling "chilled coupette or martini glass"

I have absolutely no idea what a compete is in terms of cocktails. I can only plead making the post at 11.46pm after said cocktail (plus a glass of prosecco, plus half a bottle of pinot grigio...). What I meant to say was "coupette" which is one of the old-fashioned saucer style champagne glasses.
And having typed it again I've also realised that despite the alcohol intake I probably did type it correctly, it's just the auto-correct. The only way I could prevent it from putting in compete was to go back and edit it afterwards
