Work will eventually become optional. This is very profound. Tesla Bot will do jobs humans don't want to do like dangerous or repetitive jobs.

There could eventually be hundreds of millions of Tesla Bots - maybe more than cars. The Tesla Bots need to have real world AI.

Frank 总结得好全面 :) 我给自己投一票吧 ;) 根据上下文，我觉得 Tesla bots 不只生产自家汽车的。特斯拉生产规模最大，也不需要上百万的 Tesla bots 啊 -:) 您的这个链接太好了。这样的话，特斯拉机器人的研发和生产成本都会降低很多喽，因为可以和汽车并用。更正刚才对 motors 的翻译，是发动机，不是引擎。定制的发动机和传感器是为实现 "real world AI" 这个目标的。

看各位的讨论，似乎现在有三种不同的理解了：
1. manufacturing setup for the Tesla Bots = Tesla Bots用于制造业的版本（我最初的理解）
2. manufacturing setup for the Tesla Bots = 让Tesla Bots来干活，用于生产其它东西的setup（似乎也说得通）
3. manufacturing setup for the Tesla Bots = 用来生产Tesla Bots的setup（这个感觉可能性比较低）

看之前的新闻，Tesla Bots似乎已经发布（https://www.cnet.com/news/elon-musk-unveils-tesla-bot-a-huma...），是一种“人形机器人”。所以感觉上述的1和2好像都能说得通？

这个词确实不好翻译。但感觉还不只是环境，'manufacturing setup' 还包括产品设计、生产流程、供应链管理（比如原件哪里来）、生产场地的选择、生产工人的来源和培训等等很多细节。因为都是特斯拉的品牌，机器人是否能和汽车合用生产线，而不必再单设立一条生产线？这也可以在 'manufacturing setup' 的范畴内。

或者是这么理解：需要有“适合Tesla Bots”工作的“制造业环境”？这个环境里面配置了定制的motor和sensor，便于bots使用，而不是装配在Bots上？

赞同 Frank 对 Tesla bots 和 robots 关系的分析。我也觉得 "robots" 这里代指 "Tesla bots"，为避免语句重复这样说的。Tesla bots 是 Tesla 品牌的机器人，所需的机器人引擎和传感器不是市场上现有的，而是要根据特斯拉自己的需求和规格定制。

hmm.. @clearwater 不是搞制造的，所以，不能确定。但”条件“ 的概念范畴比 "setup" 的要小。 "setup" 是整个一个系统。以前做过一次有关特斯拉汽车生产的课堂翻译，那堂课讲特斯拉是怎么建立起一套独特的生产体系来和那些有百年生产经验和品牌的汽车公司竞争。那套体系基于特斯拉对汽车动力总成的革新，去除油箱和其他传统汽车引擎部件，不仅有创新性，而且大大节省了对成本和技术的要求。这和 Tesla bots 有量身定制的引擎和传感器异曲同工。所以，才感觉 'setup' 似乎不是条件的意思。仅供参考。

@xuling 因为后文说到的motor和sensor都是硬件，需要“配置”上才能用，不是在现有硬件上“设置”就可以的，所以感觉好像还是“配置”更合适一些？

@clearwater “条件”似乎过于宽泛了？比如厂房、供电等等也是“条件”，但并非此处所指？
