{1}Not all feedback can be planned and formal.  In your role, you will be delivering what we call 'Just in time' feedback.  This is feedback that takes place a short time after you have observed behaviour where you feel the person needs to receive some feedback - either Motivational or Developmental.  Although this feedback is delivered spontaneously, you still need to think how you might deliver it and structure it the right way.   {/1}{2}Lets take a look at a common situation that might take place on the shop floor.  Click through the scenario below with Sheila and Peter.  Think about how you might feel or act in this situation.  {/2}
Sheila finishes her shift, goes home and thinks..
{1}I think I missed something today....OH NO I forgot to pick up with Peter that he was chewing gum on the shop floor.  Not to worry, I'm sure he wont do it again.  {/1}

Meet Sheila, a XXXX manager. She has high standards in store and her team need to do the same.
Sheila witnesses a team member chewing gum on the shop floor whilst working
{1}This behaviour is against XXXX policies and she decides to tell the team member their error.  Sheila walks hastily over to Peter who has just finished a rail of returns. {/1}
{1}Peter.  You are chewing gum.  You need to spit that out.  You are not allowed to do that on the shop floor.  Its against policy.  {/1}
{1}This is how Sheila should speak with Peter {/1}
{1}Peter responds 'Woah!  You cant speak to me like that.  Who do you think you are, the gum police.  I'm going to P&C to complain about you!'{/1}
