I may be completely wrong, but it just doesn't sound like a placename. I wonder if the references indicating this have been generated by bots.

Channel It could well be a drainage or bypass channel as already suggested. See figure 3.2 at page 121 of http://psc.unioneareanord.mo.it/medolla/psc/doc/Quadro_Conos... . Also search the same document for "cavo" and "diversivo" (separately). This would explain the lower case initials of "cavo diversivo".

To asker It seems to be a settlement, a "località" or "frazione" in or near Mantua: https://mapcarta.com/18704208 and https://italia.indettaglio.it/ita/lombardia/mantova_carbonar...
However, it should be capitalized and it is not.
