Not really, Proelec: 'closest' veut dire 'le plus proche', tandis que 'close to' veux dire simplement 'près de'. Ici, on repère la première fente = celle qui est la plus proche du bouton 'Function'

la plus proche de

I feel sure that this is indeed a typo for 'closest', but please note your translation really does need to express the idea of 'the one that is located nearest to...', since it is clearly being used to identify WHICH particular LED is involved, and not just vague proximity.

Note that this might be alongside, above, below... we have no way of knowing from simply 'closest'
