Bio

Hello,

I grew up in South Korea and completed my bachelor degree of English Language and Literature at a college in Seoul.

And I immigrated to the US and have been living here for about 20 years.

So I am a native Korean speaker with English fluency, and am well adjusted in multi-cultural family.

Personally I am so proud and am enjoying to be a 'bridge' between two cultures and also am supporting "Language Equality" as my philosophy.

I am currently working as an English-Korean interpreter at my home base, using VoIP.

But the translation has always been on my career path at both personal(my Korean family and my American family) and business levels.

I would like to share some of my thoughts with you about 'work of translation'.

To me, translating one language to another means a lot more than just doing it for a living.

I truly think this era that we are living in right now is marking a great historical significance in the human history if we could ever look back from far future.

The invention of Internet at the end of the 20th century have allowed information and ideas around the world to be able to get rapidly integrated and distributed. Innovative and revolutionary information and ideas are being exchanged quickly even at person-to-person(P2P) level. And the language translation/trades made those come true.

Back in the 12th century in Europe, when Renaissance movement started flourishing and enriching Europe, the printing and press industry was at the center of the movement. In this global-levelled movement that we are facing now in the 21st century, the language trade plays the key role. Language translation enables ideas and information from all over the world to make an individual's life more flavorful and flourished.

Now we can sustain and flourish our economy without having to pointing guns and cannons (remember the time that Europeans used that methods to make the asian harbors open?) and even breaking in a war so that the industries of one nation come to revival. We have discovered a higher-level weapon called Language Translation, a more powerful than real weapons.

Though in a small village town, in a little house, in a tiny room am I opening up my laptop and starting to deliver fascinating information from one language to another, I truly believe that my tiny work will have a huge impact on someone’s life at some point, at somewhere. Translation comes to me with such a meaningful purpose.

Thank you so much for your time
