Thankfully, the risk of serious adverse reactions to X-ray contrast media (CM) in the general population is very low.
However, worldwide, an estimated 60 million doses of CM are now administered annually, and with advances in cardiology, interventional radiology and CT, increasingly complex procedures are being performed in increasingly compromised patients.
In many cases, procedures are getting longer and larger CM volumes are being used. The number of applications is increasing, as is the range of patients in whom procedures are being performed. The population is ageing and, with it, the likelihood of co-morbidities is escalating. Strong, evidence-based direction from well-designed clinical trials is needed in order that outcomes following contrast enhanced procedures are optimised in these increasingly vulnerable patients.
At all available iodine concentrations, XXX is the only marketed CM for intravascular use with an osmolality equal to blood. This monograph examines how properties such as its isosmolality take XXX closer to the ideal contrast agent – one that provides excellent attenuation of X-rays while having few toxic or adverse effects.

CHX is a cutaneous solution (a solution for use on the skin).
The active substances in CHX are chlorhexidine gluconate (2% w/v) and isopropyl alcohol (70% v/v). The fast-acting antiseptic solution is used to disinfect the skin and help prevent infections before medical procedures, such as injections, insertion of catheters and surgery.
How to use CHX
A sponge is squeezed gently against the opened bottle containing the antiseptic solution, which is released onto the sponge. Your doctor or nurse will rub the sponge over your skin, covering the skin area that needs to be prepared depending on your medical procedure.
CHX is only used on the skin.
If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or nurse.
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Rarely (fewer than 1 in 1,000 people), allergic or irritated skin reactions have been reported with the active substances, chlorhexidine or isopropyl alcohol.
If you get any side effect, talk to your doctor or nurse. This includes any side effects not listed in this leaflet.

If an error occurs, the servo will generate an error signal and, in general, stop the movement.
Positions:
The positions 1 and 4 are fixed values in the PLC-software.
Position 2 is set according to the recipe parameter "Distance position 2 to position 1".
Position 3 is the dosing height and is calculated by the dosing height function.
The home position is determined through the position of the DxM2-GSL. It will (need to) be redetermined after every reset of the servo controller. If the home position is unknown, the servo cannot move to the positions 1, 2, 3 and 4. If the home position is unknown, the only possibility to move the servo is to 'jog' manually.
Speeds:
The "dosing speed" is recipe adjustable "Dosing speed dosing unit" (in %) and will be used going from position 2 to position 3.
