Don\'t say \"I\'m OK, I have virus protection\" - this is a really nasty one. There is a small and fast DOS-based utility available for free, which may surprise you, as it did me. I actually got one file infected. A friend of mine had 32 without knowing!
read the description, downlad the 37K file and let it run. It takes just a couple of minutes, but it is worth it.
I had at the beginning of the year a worm through an e-mail message and it took me a day to clean everything up and bring it back to the status quo ante. Since then I am extremely careful. I installed AVG Anti-Virus (which is by the way FREE and working very well - www.grisoft.com) und upgrade regularly.
Since then it had caught me the Code Red and the Sircam.A, so no complaints. It seems that before I installed the neccessary update for NIDA, it had already somehow sneaked in. I had no real problems, just more total freezes and blue screen of death than usual and some other oddities. I would never even have thought about having caught another virus.
So don\'t be fooled by a wrong feeling of safety. NIDA may be already there in your computer.....lurking...and then one day BUUUUAAAAAA

How do you know you've got it?
Oct 20, 2001
That might seem like a daft question, but if your anti-virus hasn\'t picked it up, then how do you know if the worm\'s there? My computer plays up quite often, but it\'s only minor things (I think!!).
