Hello everyone,
I'm based in Mexico City and a company in the US is asking me for my rates for telephone interpreting.
I do not do much of it in Mexico so I ignore the rates. I would appreciate any guidance in this respect.
Do you charge per minute? Per hour?
Please advice in USD.
Best regards,
Isadora

I would say no less than 35 to 60 cents USD per minute, depending on your experience, whether you certified or not, etc. Hope it helps!
I would love for others to also respond to see what the going rate is right now. My sister makes 55 cents. She's been doing this job for two years and works for different interpreting companies. She also has a master's degree in Portuguese/English.
