Finally, we have a TM functionality in a subtitling program! I've been forced to work on various client-provided proprietary cloud subtitling software. None of them have this feature, in addition to just being janky and annoying to use. I may try it when I've got the chance.

yeah, I've never seen translation memory in other subtitle software. And, now I want to install Linux on my laptop, because it's an old HP model. and it's slow on Win 10. Can you tell me more about Linux how to install, minimum requirements, do I need drivers, updates...?

I always recommend Linux Mint to everyone who wants to try Linux for the first time. It looks and feels like Windows 7. I started on this distro as well, and fell in love with it.
You can download the ISO from their official website. Then use something like balenaEtcher to burn the ISO into a USB stick. Just boot from it and click a few buttons. Voilà! You are now using Linux.
The minimum system requirements are listed here.
do I need drivers, updates...?
Only if you're using an NVIDIA GPU, and that's because NVIDIA refused to work with the open-source community. I've heard things are much better nowadays. But always prepare yourself for troubles.
Intel and AMD hardware shouldn't give you any issues. You just plug and play. The OS will do the heavy lifting for you.

no problemo indeed
Now, I'm very pleased with the speed of my lap top with 4 GB RAM. And my GPU is Intel UHD 600, so no drivers problem.
And Linux is very good, man, I didn't expect some stuff like TV streams and similar things.

Glad you're enjoying it. Every once in a while, you may encounter some elitists who'd judge you for using Linux Mint. Don't listen to them. Use whatever you like the most. It's your computer, you are free to do anything you want with it.

If more government institutions follow suit, the year of the Linux desktop may not be a pipe dream after all. For the record, Linux has already been dominating the server, IoT, and smartphone markets (Android is based on Linux too, you know). The success of Steam Deck also contributes to the wider adoption of Linux in the gaming landscape.
