Hello everyone

My Word installation is wonky. Some things don't work. For example, Shift+Ctrl+V does nothing, even though it is supposed to be the shortcut for the PasteFormat command. So, does anyone know a short macro that, when run, pastes the plain text version of the clipboard at the cursor position? I can then hopefully tie the shortcut to the macro.

No need for a macro Feb 26, 2024

You don't need a macro. Just go to File > Options > Customize ribbon > Keyboard shortcuts [Customize], then choose:
Categories: All commands
Commands: PasteTextOnly
Press new shortcut key: a key combination of your choice
Click "Assign".
Done.

Does it remember my last choice? I needed something that I could press a shortcut for, since I had to paste a lot.

Yes, you can use it as many times as you need Feb 27, 2024

Basically this is the same as was suggested above by Anton Konashenok. The only difference is that you use icons.
