Hello all
I have been using Transit very infrequently for a number of years but recently I have stepped up my work with a certain agency that uses it. I have never much questioned the word count they give me before the project but now I am curious to find out how analyze a file in Transit (total words, pretranslated, fuzzies, etc)
Anybody know?
Thanks!
Kelly

TRANSIT XV or TRANSIT SATELLITE wordcounts
Oct 15, 2009
Hi Kelly,
it depends on the Transit version you have.
I mean, the agencies usually work with Transit XV (I've been working in an agency for more than 2 years and have some knowledge about it). So I will try to explain you how to get the wordcount.
TRANSIT XV:
as Ilze already explained, go to Project > Status ... See more
Hi Kelly,

I mean, the agencies usually work with Transit XV (I've been working in an agency for more than 2 years and have some knowledge about it). So I will try to explain you how to get the wordcount.
TRANSIT XV:
as Ilze already explained, go to Project > Status
there you have to choose Report type: Import / Progress / Translation
View as: Word / Segment / Character
and then Update (In case you want to save the wordcount as a file, just choose Save)
The agencies choose Report type: Import to know exactly the amount of fuzzies, pretranslations and no matches there are before starting the trnaslation process.
TRANSIT SATELLITE:
go to Project > Status Report type: Progress / Translation
View as: Word / Segment / Character
and then Update
In this version of Transit you have not the option to visualised the wordcount used by the agencies, unless you choose Report type: Progress before starting the translation.
