A bit less elegant - but still workable method - is to simply copy the translated segments to the target file in a notepad-like editor.

Well, it does require some care and attention to detail; but I sometimes use this method for copying work between my machines without much problem.

Of course, I recommend keeping backup copies of all files involved, just in case anything goes wrong.

OK I understand better now. Did you physically split the document into two halves BEFORE starting the project in Transit? This would have made things much easier, because you would then each have had TWO documents in Transit, which you could have exchanged very easily (by just sending and overwriting the other person's language pair - .ENU+.FRA - in the project folder, with Transit closed of course).

If you didn't, you may still want to consider doing this (split the original doc into two, e.g. Doc-Laurent and Doc-Colleague, add them to your project, and Transit should pre-translate what you've already translated in the original). The final merge would of course have to be done in the orignal format (Word?).
