She didn't allow an extra day. I simply apologized and sent her what I did.

That is exactly what I think about it. I also experienced working under pressure and watching the time passing by. Today, I always would take less than I think I can do - just to be on the safe side. | |

Tips from an old pro...
Always build in a cushion, never let 'em see you sweat, never take a pig in a poke and most important, always be very aware of what you can and cannot do. Thank you, Henry. I am already utilizing tricks like giving a more accurate estimate of how much I can do in a day. Come to think of it, that would be a good lesson for non-urgent jobs, too.
I doubt this is the first time something like this came up. Even so, I will learn from this experience. If I get a negative LWA entry, it happens. I can't control how the PM will respond. | | | Åsa Campbell Аўстралія Local time: 14:56 Член англійская → шведская
Don't beat yourself up, you miscalculated the time needed, this can happen to the best, and you also tried to rectify the situation.
Please remember that as a freelancer you can only receive positive WWA, the PM can not give you a negative feedback.

... just how much did you take on, and with what turnaround? It was legal, right? Contract, judgment, pleadings...?
Feel free not to answer but you may pick up some tips from more experienced legal (and other) translators by doing so.
It would also indicate how serious the agency is. Serious agencies wouldn't expect or even want 'the impossible'.

There is nothing you can do at this time, unfortunately, but to learn the lesson.
They relied on you with their assignment and expected to get what was due. You may have let somebody down. You did, actually.
Just be very careful next time, avoiding such situations.
