In the contract, it states, "Freelancers will receive a link to create an account on this platform, allowing them to withdraw payments securely through various methods, such as local bank accounts, PayPal, Wise, Skrill, or other supported options."

Is this normal? I've never experienced such thing before.

Yes it is a scam Nov 2, 2024

From what other colleagues reported in these forums, the business model of this scam is something like asking you to pay a sum in order to be able to withdraw your money.

unlikely to be a scam Nov 2, 2024

The addressee is not being asked to pay a fee or commission. I am paying back a loan to a relative of mine in the South of England, interest-free and securely, exactly this way with a choice of payer and payee bank - in our case, the same UK high-street bank.

He will be as soon as he provides all his information to the scammers. There are plenty of established ways and verified platforms for the legitimate transactions, no need to invent or risk another one. Same as going through Skype interviews for some top editor position with an exorbitant salary (and 2 years of general conversations and greeting cards experience on the resume but who cares ) but... in the end, mind it, IN THE END the seeker learns that he must pay for some kind of equipment, or make a deposit first. A well-deserved lesson learned, sorry.

If still in doubt, ask them to provide the link to the platform or at least name it to check it out in advance... but only if you have extra time to waste.
